Once again thank all the team at the Heritage Village Club for the attention to detail and for the wonderful care we received during our recent visit. We arrived home safely and a special thanks to Ganesh for booking perfect seats for us enabling us to go right through to the fantastic new terminal in Mumbai airport. He has the patience of a Saint with Margaret!!We don’t know where to start with praise, our first contact of the day is usually with Sophie, she makes sure we get the Herald every morning, then if there is a problem in the room it is fixed before we finish breakfast, Nancy must get praise for her ever cheerful persona, she is always a delight in the morning, It’s a bad day when we don’t see her.The excellent waiters, Mackroy whom we have know since he was a White Shirt, still our favourite, Steven who seems to smile all the time. Then Nelsden who must spend a lot of time doing his hair but could never do enough for us, Elsden who made sure our glasses were always full. Simon who served us in the Mango. A special mention to Manchu, Regan and Vicky [white shirts who were all smart and efficient].Desmond our room boy who kept our room spotless. Hardworking Vishant and Wayne both worked so hard setting up at Xmas and New Year. Also Francisco and Vickram who make sur e the restaurant runs smoothly. We enjoyed James’s Nature Walk which we had never done before, very interesting and we recommended a few people to do it. However this year we did not enjoy the entertainment, the Evergreens were too loud, their music was not suitable for dancing which we only do at the Heritage!! Think everyone went to bed early on the two Gala nights!! We also missed the sellers that provided such a spectacular display of colour. We used to enjoy watching the puppets dancing. Some of the singers at the Mango Terrace were good except for the guy with the pony tail who was miming and they were not playing their instruments. You should give Ann a night there, she has a beautiful voice and could do a lot better, she does not need to mime. The Chefs Ramish and Gugenen do an incredible job keeping up the standard of food especially in the Mango Terrace.Off course we can’t forget the gardeners and sweepers who keep the grounds immaculate. The reception staff were always pleasant, with a wave or a smile, James was our favourite this year, only because he was always complimentary to Margaret, and at her age she needs all the compliments she can get.Last but not least Mr Guitry the superb Manager who oversees the whole team.We hope to return on the 23rd of December, can’t wait. See everyone then.Lots of love and best wishes

Having travelled to India many times we wanted a complete relaxing break for a 60th birthday in January. The staff ensured that I received a cake, flowers and balloon and was sung to in the Mango restaurant on the day all making it just that extra special. We had a room overlooking the pool which was pleasant enough and near to all facilities but we quite envied those on the other side where they could just step out onto the grass and a sunbed. The pool area itself is very crowded and has the usual booking of the sunbeds before first light! We enjoyed the food especially breakfast and lunch although we didn’t find the evening meal as good. The location is great for strolling to the beach or down into the ‘village’ through the trees. The beach is virtually empty and you can walk for miles without seeing anyone except for fisherman wanting you to take their photographs. If you go to the beach and turn right eventually you will come to a beach shack that is so chilled you could stay all day. It is quite a long walk and you may need to jump into the sea along the way to cool off.The staff at this hotel is what makes it. They are all extremely friendly and helpful. The entertainment was OK although the bingo and donkey derby didn’t seem to be very popular and seemed a bit out of keeping with the place. In comparison with other hotel s we thought the Heritage was very good value for money. Our one disappointment was that when we arrived there seemed to be a large crowd of people who obviously meet up there every and seemed to take over the place.

This was our second visit to the Heritage and a third is booked 🙂 The staff are amazing so helpful and polite, the food is good and the curries are excellent. The rooms are very clean, we stayed in a club room which looks out on the beautiful gardens. The nearby beach is amazing and anthony’s shack serves the best food :).Mango a La carte is brilliant, again the staff in there can’t do enough for you.A truly lovely Hotel and lovely people. This hotel is 3.5 star (should be higher) , some people expect 5 star luxury this is India not the Savoy London.

my husband&I spent 2 weeks at this wonderful hotel in January 2014.It was our first time there&I had booked it so was hoping it would be great. My husband is very fussy about hotel s&so am I but we could not find any fault at all.First of all,we stayed at a club room that was very comfortable.Comfy beds&spacious rooms. Our room was kept immaculately cleaned.I only wish that I could remember the male cleaner who we had because he was so friendly. We always had a little chat&he took a pride in his job:)We had the opportunity to meet Guitry(the hotel manager)&his wife for cocktails on our second night. What a wonderful couple who obviously took pride in welcoming their guests. The Thomson rep(I think his name was Arty)was so friendly&informative.Gave us lots of information about trips&we would definately recommend the sunset boat trip hosted by Swiston who works at the hotel .He had impeccable manners&treated us like royalty&his English speaking was crystal clear:)We also booked for the laid back waters(overnight boat trip)that was amazing&also back to nature that too was amazing:)You must book all these 3 trips…well worth the money:)The hotel staff were so friendly with smiley faces&always very helpful.Nancy(restauraunt manager)was so lovely. She always had the time to hold a conversation with us.The lady on reception(cant remember her name)was also very helpful.I had an upset stomach(nothing to do with the amazing food)&she gave me some medication for free that quickly resolved my symptoms:)The hotel also has an amazing jeweller called John who is a lovely guy…not pushy at all.He repairs jewellery&also designs jewellery&sells a wide variety of jewellery.I was lucky to have an amazing husband who bought me a carrot diamond ring:) I just love it:)All I can say is that if you book this hotel ,you will not be dissapointed.I would recommend the club room.Ignore any negative comments. We are well travelled&are also very fussy but we will definitely return to this hotel again :)The beach is just a few minutes walk away:)Thankyou to everyone who made our stay so perfect:)The mango restauraunt is well worth a visit:)
